Baby Stories ...

Our babies are no longer babies, but we still like to call them that! This is one of Ricky and Rachel's babies who's turned out to be male. You can see he's going to be one good looking bird once his colors are fully developed!

Classic Expressions!

Here is one of our baby birds. As you can see his color is still developing. These are not the best photographs as they're not terribly clear, but I couldn't resist putting them up just for his expressions!

Our Littlest Baby - Chunti!

We've named our littlest baby bird "Chunti"! The word simply means small, and being the smallest of all our birds, we thought the name apt!

She's female, the tiniest of the lot, but hyperactive and full of spunk! She's no pushover and doesn't take any bullying from the others. And she knows how to give back as good as she gets! Chunti's also a voracious eater, and eats like there's no tomorrow! Here's a photograph of her with her boiled peas!

Our Newest Finch

We adopted our neighbour's finch today. The poor thing was kept all alone in a cage without a mate ( who died about 3 weeks earlier ) and rather than have it suffer all alone without any company and in not the most humane of conditions, we asked if we could take it.

Here's our newest finch, and he's a lovely looking, perfectly colored male. The other birds seem to have taken to him quite well and he seems happy to be "home"!

Our Babies And Their New Toy

Our babies were given a new toy by their godmother, and they seem to love it! It's basically a lot of brightly colored ropes, filled with sisal and they love trying to undo the knots!

Thank you Godma!

Our Babies Have Grown Up!

We're back! We've been away for two whole weeks, and once we got back to town we collected our babies and brought them home as soon as we possibly could. Oh, how they've changed! When we left, our babies were about four weeks old, and it just took those two weeks for their colors to start developing and now they all look different!

Just to give you an idea, I'll show you what they looked like before, and what they look like now.

Have a look at the two grey and white babies - BEFORE

And look at them now!

These are the same two babies ... before and after photographs. Isn't nature so awesome?! As you can see they're both males, and the orange cheeks, the black chest and the brown speckles will develop further over the next few weeks as will their beaks, which will turn a brighter vibrant orange.

Here's our darling little Ross ... he's tiny and he's cute!

Budgie Portraits

Here's one of our yellow/green budgies. The photographs don't do justice to their real color.

The one at the back looks almost like a mirror image of the one in front, but they're both different!

Ross And Monica's Two Babies

Ross and Monica's two babies seem to be quite close to each other. The older white one stays close to the smaller one and tries and protects it at times.

Bafin The Fighter!

Bafin's been in fighter mode, so much so that we've had to separate him and his mate. Here he is trying to fight with Ross!

Ricky And Rachel In Love!

Ricky and Rachel seem to be the most devoted couple. The others are always busy flying around, sometimes fighting with the others, or just co-existing peacefully. Ricky and Rachel seem to be lost in their own world though, and it's so sweet to see!

Chandler And Becks's Smallest Baby

One of Chandler and Beck's babies ( who's now their smallest one ) was born with a black beak. However as it's growing older, you can see that the beak is slowly changing color to the customary orange. Once the baby is about six weeks, depending on the final color of the beak and the coloration of it's feathers, we'll be able to tell if it's male or female.

The baby is the one in the middle.

Joey

Here are some photographs of Joey looking all cute and puffed up! He's puffed up because he's trying to attract his mate ( She's the new one we got for him after Phoebe flew away ). Joey's easily one of the best looking finches of all the ones we've got, but here all puffed up he just looks plain cute!

Ricky And Rachel And Their White Baby

Here are Ricky and Rachel with one of their white babies. When they're together then you can see that the babies are quite a bit smaller than their parents.
